Do not remove, bypass, cap incorrectly, or substitute a backflow assembly to restore flow. A failed or leaking device may protect a critical boundary even when the symptom appears inconvenient.

Written scope
The work order should identify the hazard class, approved assembly, orientation, drainage, clearance, isolation, permit, tester, initial result, corrective work, certification, and future access for maintenance.

Verification
File the test result and device details where they can be found at the next inspection. Restore every valve to the approved operating position and confirm that drainage does not create a separate building problem.
